Indie Author Day 2017

Greetings local indie authors!

Montclair Public Library is hosting another Indie Author Day event on October 14, 2017, here at the main library on Fullerton Avenue. A big thank you for making last year’s event a hit! We have learned from the previous year’s successes and mishaps and have changed the format this time around.

We encourage local authors to set up booths where you can promote and sell your works, whether they are self-published or through an independent publisher, from 11am to 2pm on the day of the event. We can provide you with a 3-foot section of table and a chair; you bring the rest! After this portion of the event, from 3pm to 5pm, we are looking to host a lecture or two on topics of interest to indie authors – more details to come!

If you are interested in participating again in Indie Author Day here at Montclair Public Library, please submit the following form as soon as you can. Thank you very much, I look forward to your responses!

Kristine Lombardi’s New Book

Kristine’s new book has been published by Harper-Collins.

Here is the book blurb:
A funny picture book about friendship, in the tradition of Arnold Lobel’s Frog and Toad.  Mr. Biddles is a cat inventor, and Hobson is a lobster that is left on his front porch. An odd pair indeed, but when Hobson joins Biddles in the lab (where he invented not only his catnip diffuser but also his automatic mail retriever!), they discover that Hobson has a gift: two super-useful claws.  Mr. Biddles always needed help in the lab, but he hadn’t known how much until Hobson came along. The two enjoy one another’s company and work well side by side but, one day, Hobson begins to miss home. Biddles badly wants to invent a way to get his friend home safely. But how? Hobson is from the faraway coast and can travel only in five gallons of water!

Publishes First Poetry Collection

I’m delighted to announce that my first book of poetry is available for preorder. If you received a postcard in the mail, this will give a little more detail about the book.

See the Dragons ~ A Collection of Zen Haiku explores three types of love: romantic, unrequited and spiritual, within the context of expanded awareness through a daily meditation practice.

To read the reviews and for ordering information, visit Finishing Line Press. Number of copies printed in the initial pressrun will be determined by the amount of prepublication sales received by June 9. If you already ordered a copy, THANK YOU!

Included in the Spiritual Love section is the zen haiku, “Awareness,” which won Special Category Award: Haiku in the Spirit First 2016 Meditation Poetry Contest

I am awareness
Secrets of the universe
Are all inside me

Website survey

Soon, the Montclair Write Group website will produce a survey to determine what type of stuff should be on the website.  In other words, what do YOU want to see here?  What do YOU want the website to do?  How can the website support YOUR writing activities?

If you don’t respond to the survey, we’ll be forced to guess what will be useful to you.

The more members respond, the more accurately the website will reflect your needs.

So don’t ignore the survey once it becomes available

Hello world!

The Montclair Write Group Website is brand new and under development.  This development will take several weeks.  Bear with us and we’ll eventually finish developing it.

When it’s finished it will be chock full of interesting content.
